 I had the fortune of finding Rufus over my summer break between fourth and fifth grade. Seemingly abandoned and most likely abused he quickly settled into life with my family. Rufus was an incredible dog to grow up with. Incredibly tolerant he was willing to do whatever was asked of him. A steady performing obedience dog it was through him that I was first introduced into the world of dog shows.
 Rufus was an incredible dog to learn with. He was the first of my " Boy dogs" to constantly worry over where I was. Rufus set the bar high for the dogs that came after him. As such I think that he would be proud of those that followed. Another of my "Heart dogs" I know that he still is near.
